Oak Island Trip 2012
August 7, 2012 at 10:28 amDay 3 – It has been raining off and on all morning. I did go shelling right after I woke up-lots of shells and very quiet on the beach.
After breakfast, mom went off to the library with Michelle and the little kids. Stu and I are planning to run to the shell shop (first to see if it is still there, and then look at all the fun beach items), and on the way back, we will stop at the store to pick up the rest of the ingredients for our Italian Dinner night on Thursday.
We may actually take a dip in the ocean this afternoon.
Anatomy of a Christmas Theme
September 11, 2010 at 2:06 pmWe have determined our Christmas theme for this year – Noel a la Maison.
I am getting ready to create little house ornaments made of clay, but first I need to find my house-shaped cookie cutters.
I also want to make house-shaped invitations. I wonder whether or not I have any house-shaped stamps? I will need to look.
For the menu? Down-home cooking, southern-style. I think I will dive into my Southern Living Cookbooks for inspiration, and see how many things I can make ahead. Of course, we will be needing to eat quite a bit out of the freezers first!
Christmas in September
September 7, 2010 at 8:51 pmHere it is 90 degrees, and I’m staying cool working on Christmas presents. Slowly, but surely, I’m making a small pile of them. Will I have enough by Christmas? Tis always in my thoughts. As the holidays grow closer, I tend to get more and more creative about what I am going to give folks.
Learning
September 15, 2010 at 9:25 pmI am happy to be working on my web site again. I am very enthusiastic about learning WordPress also! I hope you like our new format. I will be adding new things on a weekly basis, hopefully.
